CUSTOMER CHALLENGE
An earthquake in southern Perú caused several short circuits along a main transmission line operated by ISA REP Implying operational unavailability. Existing fault locators at the substations were not able to locate the faults, leading to several days of transmission Interruption and putting Peruvian grid under high operational risk. ISA REP challenged Enline to apply the Enline Fault Location (EFL) to prove if the software would have identified and located the faults challenging its precision and time lapse.

ENLINE SOLUTION
ENLINE Utilized an innovative algorithm in real-time based on waveform measurements and time domain fault location methods. Using its Digital Twin technology ENLINE simulated the affected branch of 450km of the line and detected exactly all the faults coordinates within one span.
Once the digitalization process of the full transmission line is done, which has to be done one-time and takes EN LINE 48 hours, detection of all faults types and locations are determined within milliseconds.
